Like most fans, I would normally be extremely disappointed with only a point from a match like Saturday's but I was able to appreciate the so-called bigger picture at 5pm on Saturday.
While it was clear that the Dark Side would go back to the top of the pile with a win over Hamilton, the team's general play against the Hibees was possibly the best all season and it was pleasing to see a number of improved performances from the likes of Davis, especially given the makeshift nature of the team due to injuries.
What comes next, however, is a difficult trip to Tannadice next Sunday and, with our closest rivals playing at home the day before, I really hope that things go our way and that the team does not wilt under the likely scenario of being four points behind at kick-off. Whatever the case may be, there may be light at the end of the tunnel. In the press release, it was also claimed that a 'tentative enquiry' has been made as to the sale of the club, with fan message boards soon going into meltdown with rumours that the announcement of a buyer will be made within the next ten days.
This put a spring back in my step and I therefore hope that the future of the club is soon secured and that the new owner(s) are prepared to invest funds to begin a bright new era for Scotland's most famous sporting institution. We are the People!
