Simply the Best

We're now entering a crucial few weeks of the season in our pursuit of a domestic treble.   A sequence of wins in our next six matches would take us a long way down the road to a treble that has looked very elusive at times this season.

Sadly, the team will have to do so without the backing of one of our most loyal fans.   I was devasted to hear of the death of Garry Lynch last week - he suffered a fatal brain haemmorrage - so hard to bear as Garry was so full of life and enthusiasm.   I had the pleasure of meeting him on many occasions in places all over the world whether it be a pre-season friendly, a big European match or a NARSA Convention.   His dedication to the Gers was legendary - I recall tales of journeys to youth matches at places like Elgin one evening and then a first team fixture at Kilmarnock the following day and maybe a reserve game at Livingston the next day - his devotion to all things Rangers had no equal in my time.   I found it difficult to accept that I was going to a match yesterday and Garry would not be there!

We had a good turnout of HTB members at the Old Firm match and thanks are due to Robert Martin for his driving exploits in our luxury coach, Toryglen RSC for pre and post-match hospitality and transport to and from the ground and to all those members and friends that helped with tickets.

On a lighter note - I am working in Blackpool and staying in a hotel for the week.   I nearly caused serious injury to our left-sided midfield star, currently on loan to the local team, as I exited the lift at great speed.   However, my subtle body swerve deceived him and no incident arose.   Interesting to check out his diet at breakfast and see if the allegations of a less than healthy dietary regime are true - watch this space!!
