It seems that the problems that currently befall our great club cannot stymie the ardour of the HTB membership. Despite financial uncertainty and a difficult start to the season, there have been signs of life at Ibrox of late and the loyalty of the HTBs continued with yet another full bus on Saturday.

The day after an important three-point haul against St Mirren, an interview in the Sunday Mail with club coach and legend Ian Durrant claimed that Walter's recent admission of the bank's control over the club has birthed a new siege mentality among the squad and staff at Ibrox. Durranty claimed that the players are now more behind Walter and Ally than ever before and that the former is at his most determined to see Rangers through one of the most testing times of its history and win the title along the way. What followed was a great result for Falkirk (!) against our greatest rivals which keeps us in touch at the top of the pile.

While we must concentrate on our own position rather than C****c's, if the squad can keep their heads and stay injury-free, the title may remain within G52 for at least another season in spite of financial uncertainty. This, coupled with the hope that new buyers will bring a new era to Rangers sooner rather than later, would be just reward for the continued support of RSCs like our own. As Marvin Andrews said, let's keep believing!

We are the People.

Like most fans, I would normally be extremely disappointed with only a point from a match like Saturday's but I was able to appreciate the so-called bigger picture at 5pm on Saturday.

While it was clear that the Dark Side would go back to the top of the pile with a win over Hamilton, the team's general play against the Hibees was possibly the best all season and it was pleasing to see a number of improved performances from the likes of Davis, especially given the makeshift nature of the team due to injuries.

What comes next, however, is a difficult trip to Tannadice next Sunday and, with our closest rivals playing at home the day before, I really hope that things go our way and that the team does not wilt under the likely scenario of being four points behind at kick-off. Whatever the case may be, there may be light at the end of the tunnel. In the press release, it was also claimed that a 'tentative enquiry' has been made as to the sale of the club, with fan message boards soon going into meltdown with rumours that the announcement of a buyer will be made within the next ten days.

This put a spring back in my step and I therefore hope that the future of the club is soon secured and that the new owner(s) are prepared to invest funds to begin a bright new era for Scotland's most famous sporting institution. We are the People!

Simply the Best

It's been a depressing week and many words have been spoken in the wake of the horrendous result on Tuesday night!

We can talk, argue, moan and kick the dug but our allegiance to our great Club must go on.

That's where our loyal HTB members and friends should take a bow.   There was a good turnout on Tuesday and the response for Saturday's match against Hibs is phenomenal - we're running two buses for the first time ever!

You are bucking the trend and you deserve great credit for that.

I hope all the members and friends that come along on Saturday have a great day and that we record a win to maintain our position at the top of the SPL.

There is surgery needed across many aspects of the Club and it will not happen instantly.   We have to keep our nerve and continue to support our team.

The well-used phrase "WE ARE THE PEOPLE" is very apt for the HTBs.

Wee Jimmy

After another weekend of breathless action, the Champions have re-taken (what some would their rightful) place back at the helm of the SPL.

A hard-fought victory against an enterprising St Johnstone side, which included an excellent winner from the often-unnoticed Sasa Papac, preceded an afternoon of sitting, wondering and hoping the Motherwell defence would keep Sellick at bay.

And it did. Just as ‘Well did to us at Fir Park a few weeks ago, they managed to hold firm against our greatest foes, meaning we were able to remain at the summit for at least another week.

But despite all the Tim-directed gloating that has gone on among certain sections of the Rangers support since the OF win at the start of the month, we should remember that our own house should be completely in order before pointing out the inadequacies of others'.

McDiarmid Park was never going to be an easy place to visit, particularly with the couple of tiresome away trips fresh in the memory. Rangers' hosts this season have found it possible to keep the team at bay by pressing space when they don't have the ball and passing straight through them when they do, and we have so far found it difficult on the road thus far.

Our trips to Rugby Park, Tynecastle, Fir Park and McDiarmid have been less-than-comfy affairs and, while we have rarely looked like losing any of these fixtures, the two wins have in truth been fairly unconvincing affairs.

That said, a three point haul to follow-up the OF victory was a must, and the true worth of the victory came at 5.00pm on Saturday when news of Celtic's latest disappointment came to light.

Although looking forward to my visit to Blue Heaven for the Hibs game on Saturday, I and other Bears should be mindful that another win is a must to keep the run going, if only to pile the pressure on Celtic who don't play until the following day.

The fact is that, while the financial climate dictates that our own situation is not as strong as once was, the current Celtic team is undoubtedly the poorest of the decade who really are there for the taking this season.

Added to that, they are now led by a guy who, I believe, is only now realising the true volume of the ridiculous expectations of his team's support. In my humble opinion, the chinks in his armour are already there for all to see.

We, therefore, just have to make sure we keep points piling on to that board because, if we do, we can only end up as champions for the second successive season.

So get stuck into those Hibees lads. We are the People!
