wild eyed boy

Hello, remember me, it's the Wild Eyed Boy from Freecloud.

Wellwhat a start to the new season...Two  Harrogate True Blues members indulging in naked wrestling at the Emirates Tournament, 4 goals in ourfirst S.P.L game, a magnificent comeback by ten men at Tynecastle, LeeMcCulloch proving that there is life after Barry Ferguson, (Barrywho?),  Sir David Murray stepping down as chairman, and not atambourine in sight, (what's happened to the Harrogate True Blues band).
Itwas nice to see some new faces on our first bus of the new season, andthe usual ugly mugs secreted at the back of the bus, (do they only letthem out on match days)!

With Sir David stepping down it lookslike its going to be an interesting few weeks for the mighty Rangerswith rumours circulating about a possible buy out, (is John Davidsonwaiting in the wings with the H.T.Bs wedge in his purse), strangerthings have happened, I don't know, sometimes its hard work being aRangers supporter.

The champions league draw could have beenworse, none of the glamour teams coming to Ibrox, but it looks to benot too bad a group, eight points may possibly see us through to thelast sixteen, (anti football here we come again), a bit of positivityfrom uncle Watty is whats needed here, come on, lets have a go.

Wellthat's me for now, lets hope for another three points at the weekend, the legendary number six for the first goal again, can lightning strikethree weeks running, why not......WE ARE THE PEOPLES.

Simply the Best

The new season is now under way and it was a great sight to see the League flag unfurled before the match on Saturday.   We were then able to sit back and enjoy four cracking goals from the Champions.

What a fantastic start to the season for the Harrogate True Blues - a full bus and a number of new members augurs well for the season.   I hope everyone enjoyed their day and we look forward to many busy buses in the months ahead.

I attended the Rangers Supporters Assembly Player of the Year Dinner on Friday evening and had the great pleasure of presenting the Player of the Year award to Pedro Mendes.   We were entertained by our guest speaker, John "Bomber" Brown, who is a true Rangers man and his patter was first class.   We also had six former players from the 1972 Cup winners Cup winning squad as guests and they were great entertainment as well - sharing stories, posing for photos and signing autographs.   It was also great to see our Assembly delegates from overseas - Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Dubai were all represented.

There is a great deal to look forward to with the Champions League looming - that will be a huge test for us but we will hopefully rise to the occasion.   However, the priority will once again be the SPL title and let's hope we can achieve that.

There are a number of seats on the bus and match tickets still available for the next home match against Hamilton Accies on Saturday 29 August 2009.   If you want to go along, let Andy of John know as soon as possible.

Delighted to report that the party was a great evening - it is always so good to celebrate a league and cup double in the company of such good friends.

Many thanks on behalf of HTB RSC to Robert Martin for preparing the venue - it was absolutely first class and many guests commented on how good it was.   Thanks also to Pam and Annette for the superb buffet - again many of those in attendance commented on the quality of the spread.

The entertianment provided by our good friends from Bootle and the DJ John was excellent and the karaoke performers added a nice touch as well.

A word of thanks to John Davidson, Fozzie and our coach driver John Falconer for their assistance in making the evening run so smoothly.

Great to see Eddie and the boys from Kilwinning and Stevie from Glasgow - thanks for making the effort guys - you're always very welcome.

Only slight disappointment was the fact that a number of our regulars members didn't come along - you missed a great night - look forward to seeing you all there next time round.

All being well, we will be aiming for Saturday 22 or 29 May 2010 for the next do.

Don't miss it!!!!

What a magnificent end to the season - a League and Cup double that looked unlikely until it actually happened.   Those HTB members that were able to go to Tannadice will relish the memories of a fantastic day and a great performance from the Champions - the bus was rocking on the way home!!

The scary bit of the day was the reported sightings of a few of our regulars on the live TV coverage - I think that Setanta must have it in for us!!

We can now look forward to our end of season party on Saturday 27 June.   It promises to be a great night.   If you haven't already ordered your tickets, please do so as soon as possible.   It is important that we provide numbers for the caterer.

There will be a bus to and from the venue in Leeds - the route will cover Darlington, Northallerton, Catterick, Leeming, Ripon, Harrogate, Wetherby and on to Leeds.

For those members and friends that can't come along, thanks for your support during the season - it is much appreciated - enjoy the summer in the knowledge that "We Are The Champions" and we look forward to seeing your next season.
